Fri, 04/22/2016 - 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Helmerich Collaboration Space of OU Bizzell Library

We are pleased to announce the first OU Health Disparities, Social Science and Humanities of Health Symposium, Friday April 22, 2p-4p in the Bizzell Library Community Room (Lower Level 1) on the Norman Campus. This free symposium will consist of three panel presentations, independent presentations from various Health Science Center organizations, followed by a networking event in Ellison Hall, room 132, from 4p-6p.

The primary goals of this symposium will be to

  • Provide a brief introduction to the variety of non-biological health related research conducted on the OU-Norman and OU-Tulsa campuses,
  • Provide an opportunity to hear from various funding opportunities from the Oklahoma City Health Sciences Campus (SCC, OSCTR, OTRC)
  • Network with other health research faculty from the Norman and Tulsa campuses and meet health researchers and program administrators from the Health science Campus.

We are looking for OU faculty who would be willing to provide brief presentations of their research and scholarship related to Health Disparities, Social Science or the Humanities of Health. Presenters will sit on one of three panels and be provided 4 minutes to briefly discuss their research/scholarship. A brief questions and answer period will follow the panel’s presentation.

To submit a presentation idea: Please prepare a brief (~1-2 paragraph) description of you presentation, including potential for collaboration, and current funding source (if applicable) and submit it by Friday, April 1 here: https://ousurvey.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_1GHLo7Z0l3dwUjX
